Kazakhstan declares nine-month ban on checking small business firms.

[Presenter] A nine-month moratorium on checking enterprises of small and medium-sized business comes into effect today. [Correspondent] Galina Topoleva will tell us under what terms this campaign will be conducted.
[Correspondent, over video of a cafe, bakery] A decision to introduce the moratorium was taken at the forum of the country's businessmen in September [2002]. President Nursultan Nazarbayev discussed it there. From 1 January till 1 October of 2003 businessmen will be freed of inspections.
