[Presenter] Customs duties on some products will be lowered this year, under a decision taken by parliament and the government.
Compared with 2002, customs duties have been changed on over 2,000 items. The government took into consideration requests from entrepreneurs and reduced customs duties on imported baby foods from 17.5 to 5 per cent, since these are not produced in Kyrgyzstan. Customs duties on imported wool for the textile production were also reduced. The deputy minister of Foreign Trade and Industry, Dzhamal Tononbayeva [name phonetic], said customs duties were reduced on only 692 items.
