Tehran, 1 January: Iran's current account balance was 1.138bn dollars in the positive in the first half of the current Iranian year (started 21 March 2002), showing a drop of 73 per cent compared to the figure for the same period last year.
The Central Bank of Iran (CBI) said on Wednesday [1 January] in its statistical report that Iran's current account showed a surplus of 4.215bn dollars in the first half of last year.
Iran's trade balance surplus amounted to 1.478bn dollars in the first half of current Iranian year, down 65 per cent compared to 4.272bn dollars surplus in the balance in the same period last year.
