Quito: According to a report issued yesterday by the National Institute of Statistics and Census (INEC), the government's goal of ending the year with single-digit inflation was achieved.
The director of the institute, Carlos Cortez, told the press that the annual inflation rate came to 9.36 per cent, suggesting that the outgoing administration's goal had been reached. The official said that inflation fell in December, reaching 0.35 per cent as opposed to last month's 0.69 per cent.
