I do not agree that the reason low-carbohydrate diets work is that they're boring, as you state in your June report "The Truth About Low-Carb Foods." Only the first two weeks of the South Beach diet are somewhat limited in selection. After that, there are a lot of choices even without those newfangled, low-carb concoctions. The article says that a six month study found that low-carb dieters take in fewer calories. Why? People who eat complex carbs, proteins, and good fats don't gel hungry between meals. Portions can be smaller and satisfying. If you don't eliminate simple carbs, it's much harder to pass up those calories. I like low-carb because I lose weight and don't feel hungry

I enjoyed your article "Diet Meals: Calorie Control Made Simple." I have found that there is not enough food in them to make me feel full. So I now add frozen or fresh vegetables to make a larger portion of food but not add many more calories.
