By James Card The annual Boryeong Mud Festival was back again at Daecheon Beach, located outside Boryeong, South Chungcheong Province, for a seven-day run from July 16-22.

Daecheon, the largest beach on the west coast, is an 8- mile long tidal flat with wide fluctuations between high and low tides. The sand is composed of fine grained eroded seashells, which makes it good for barefoot walks and swims, but most people don't come just for the great sandy beach-they come for the mud.

The mud is dug up near Boryeong, trucked to the beach area, and dumped at a "Mud Experience Land." There's mud and more mud. Visitors could take …
