SARASOTA -- When people think of children's theater, they tend to envision high-school plays or church productions.

But during summer at the Players Theatre of Sarasota, "children's theater" means an intense training program culminating in a public performance.

This weekend, the Players Performing Arts School Stage Door Workshop will present "Flapper," a musical comedy about the Roaring '20s, with a cast ages 7 to 21.
