Islamabad, July 19 PPI: The National Assembly Monday passed the Political Parties (Amendment) Bill, 2004, which allows removal of restriction on holders of elected public offices to hold any political party office, as this was creating problem for smooth working of political parties and in strengthening the democratic process. The Bill will now go to the Senate for its adoption. Earlier, speaking on the Bill, Minister for Petroleum, Chaudhry Naurez Shakoor assured the House that the government has no motives to misuse the Bill as "political tool." …
