Tata Balanced (TB), a hybrid equity-oriented fund launched in Oct 1995, has been rated 3-Star in Value Research's Mutual Fund Scorecard. Value Research has applied the star rating system to grade mutual funds based on their returns relative to the risks they take. A 5-star rating indicates that the fund is rated in the top 10 percent of all funds in India, a 4-star rating (the next 22.5 percent), a 3-star rating (middle 35 percent), a 2-star rating (lower 22.5 percent) and a single star rating (bottom 10 percent).
