Silly me, picking a Cubs-Red Sox World Series. Oh, I still think the Cubs can get there--should get there, even. But the Red Sox, it seems, would prefer to implode. Even if the Sox were one big, happy family, they would be doomed by their defensive ineptitude and stagnant offensive philosophy--no bunts, no hit-and-runs, no managerial creativity allowed.
There, that's off my chest. Considering all the Red Sox-Yankees hype entering the season, in which the 28 other teams were basically downgraded to the level of the Washington Generals, it would be good for baseball if the Sox collapsed.
