* I think having a shootout to determine the winner of a hockey game (TSN, June 21) is a brilliant idea. I am tired of seeing two teams battle neck and neck just to end up in a tie. I believe the NHL should have teams play one overtime and then have a shootout in the event of a tie.

* Overall, I enjoyed your spirited and interesting discussions on the great debates in baseball (TSN, June 28). I wish there had been about 20 more pages of them. That said, I disagree with the one deciding which young player to build around (Joe Mauer or Mark Prior). My choice would have been to debate Albert Pujols vs. Miguel Cabrera. They are pretty evenly matched at the plate. Cabrera wins for me, though, because of his versatility on the field.
