Section: General News - Thailand's Food And Drug Administration has urged the government to offer AIDs patients more choice of cheaper generic anti-retroviral drugs.
Thailand should be able to produce a wider variety of anti-AIDs drugs, Dr Supachai Kunarattanapruek, the Thai FDA secretary-general told TNA.
He said the two ARV drugs -- Kaletra and Efcvirenz -- would suit Thai patients who had developed a resistance to GPO-VIR, the anti-AIDS drugs cocktails that has been made available locally. They may also be better suited for those patients have suffered side effects from taking the drugs, he said.
