Many people assume that the politically liberal European Union has environmental policies that are "more sophisticated and enlightened" than those in the U.S. Steven Hayward, an AEI fellow, and research assistant Ryan Stowers put this theory to the test. Their results suggest that the U.S. and E.U. have very similar regimes when it comes to dealing with air pollution.
