KUALA LUMPUR, Tues. - Companies making profit from managing water supply in the States will be allowed to continue after the Federal Government has taken over water management and distribution nationwide, Works Minister Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu said today.

But, he said, the companies would come under direct federal supervision instead of the State Governments, as was the case now.

"There are five or six States which are making profits from water managing and distribution. As long as the companies do not financially burden the Government and the people, we will allow them to continue...that is how we will work …
