Tascam Pocketstudio 5.(Road Test)(www.tascam.com)(Product/Service Evaluation)

I've always been a fan of Tascam products. Needless to say, I jumped at the chance to review the new Pocketstudio 5. I asked my friend and writing partner Brent Barkman to come over and check it out with me.

The Pocketstudio uses Compact Flash media to record four fracks. There's an internal MIDI synth module for playback of Standard MIDI files. There are more than 100 built-in effects. You can bounce tracks, copy or paste using bars or beats, and automate your punch in/out spots. The Pocketstudio 5 is Mac and PC friendly via USB. You can mixdown to, or playback MP3 files.
