Eighth place? How am I still stuck in eighth place?
Checking your team midway through the season can be a frustrating experience when it's not your year. Sometimes you can make all the right moves, or at least the sensible ones, but luck declines to come along for the ride.
It's tough to fix that power-hungry squad after losing Richie Sexson and Troy Glaus to serious shoulder injuries. That pitching juggernaut of Barry Zito, Mike Mussina, Bartolo Colon and Matt Morris hasn't quite panned out as planned, either.
It's not time to throw in the towel, but shifting your focus could help remove the gloom. What about starting a midseason league?
