Fly hears the St. Louis Cardinals have come up with a promotion that's no snoozer. One night in September, fans will be able to buy "lawn tickets" so they can pitch a tent, watch a Cardinals away game on the Diamond Vision and then sleep on the field at Busch Stadium. Sleeping on the field while the game is going on will be frowned upon, however. After all, that's what got Tino Martinez run out of town.

According to a news release landing in Fly's inbox, 76ers power forward Kenny Thomas has hired a P.R. and marketing firm in an effort to boost his visibility. By becoming more identifiable, Thomas should have a better chance of landing personal appearances, endorsement deals and, a long shot here, some passes from Allen Iverson and Big Dog.
