WHEN the results at the Jubilee championships of the Mid-Ulster section of the NI Branch, RSPBA, were announced last Saturday, a significant feature was that the top three grades all recorded a treble of first prizes.

For the Field Marshal Montgomery in Grade One that is now almost the expected norm, especially for their grade win and best piping. For the present Grade Two leaders, Ballinderry Bridge, it was another magnificent performance - plus the best corps of drums.

And for Banbridge in Grade Three A, it was also a well-merited treble and that was something the Wallace-tartaned outfit have threatened to do for some time. They also had a fourth first through …
