Harassment by former campus police officer Larry Phillips was just part of the job for Caren Sharpe, a 10-year employee at St. Louis Community College who moved from dispatcher to secretary to the chief of police.
He repeatedly asked the 51-year old mother of a teenager for sex, especially after she got divorced in 1997. In 2004 he walked into her office and waved a gun at her, saying, "If I can't have you, no one can," then slowly pulled the trigger but it did not fire, she testified.
An acting chief took away Phillips' badge but not his gun, and the school fired him. Sharpe filed suit, the school told her not to discuss her ...
