Almost one in five female cadets at The Citadel SC report being sexually assaulted while at the military school, according to a recent survey released by the school.
Nearly all of the school's 118 female cadets and 487 of the 1,770 male cadets participated in the survey. Almost 5% of the men also reported being sexually assaulted.
Women reported 27 sexual assaults in the survey, but only 10 of them reported the assaults to authorities. About half of those who did not go to authorities said they feared harassment, ostracism or ridicule, according to the ...
