Oct. 23--A week ago, it looked as if Kokomo Common Council was about to sue Kokomo Mayor Matt McKillip over claims he spent local income tax revenue without taking the proper legal steps. Friday, it appeared council was holding fire on the lawsuit in anticipation of further negotiations with the mayor. "Everybody's on board with trying to resolve this," city attorney Jon Mayes said Friday. "Nobody wants a lawsuit. It would slow things down, and bring some good things to a halt."
