I REFER to the report "IRB will stop issuing Form J from next year" (NST July 2) and the use of the MyKad with a smart card reader to do online tax return submissions.
It was mentioned in the report that we will need a smart card reader costing less than RM200 to verify our identify in order to do this submission. This is absurd! If we were to look at Singapore, they have been doing online tax returns in a simpler but very effective way for the past few years.
I should know as I used this to submit my tax returns. And you don't need to buy any special overpriced ...
