MALAYSIANS fared miserably on the second day of the Asian Junior Taekwondo Championships when all six exponents lost their opening bouts in Ho Chih Minh City, Vietnam yesterday.

After a fine start on Friday when Ryan Chong claimed a silver in the boys' flyweight and Koh Jen Li took bronze in the girls' flyweight, Malaysians were expected to maintain their momentum but instead, dished out pathetic performances.

Ryan's elder brother and medal prospect, Jason Chong, started what was going to a horrendous day, when he suffered an 8-2 defeat to Mohamed Elhaj Salleh of Jordan in the first round of the welterweight …
