BEIJING, July 5 Asia Pulse - The recycling of Electronic Scrap, or discarded home appliances, could be profitable if proper measures are taken, said Huang Jicheng, deputy chief of the Tianjin Resources Recycling Research Institute.

Profitable materials that could be withdrawn from electronic scrap include nonferrous and ferrous metals, plastics, glass and other valuable parts, said Huang.

Statistics show that 286 pounds of copper, one pound of gold and 44 pounds of tin could be separated from a ton of electronics boards. Gold alone is worth US$6,000.
