THE 250-metre timber track at Velodrome Rakyat may be replaced with a concrete one if Ipoh City Mayor Datuk Sirajuddin Salleh has his way.
Sirajuddin, making his first official visit to the velodrome yesterday, said the option is open.
"Taking into account the wear and tear of a timber track and the maintenance involved, I would prefer a concrete one, but this is a layman's view." Sirajuddin said.
"But the track will have to be replaced and the council will act fast to see that the velodrome and its track restored to its original state." The Velodrome was constructed in 1986 at a cost of RM3.25 million …
