Broadcast and satellite solutions provider SES Astra has signed an agreement to acquire a 75.2 per cent stake in DPC (Digital Playout Centre) from Premiere, a German pay-TV operator. DPC operates a teleport facility in Munich and offers play-out, multiplexing, encryption and satellite uplink services to private and public broadcasters. Under the new management, DPC will diversify its service offering by launching Germany's first 'open' Pay-TV platform using Premiere-compatible digital set top boxes.
