Magas, 1 July: Two police officers have been killed in Ingushetia in a shoot-out with bandits, a source in the republic's Interior Ministry told Interfax-South on Thursday [1 July].

The armed clash took place in the town of Malgobek (Ingushetia) about 0600 Moscow time [0200 gmt] on Thursday, the source said.

Police officers were checking a private home in Malgobek when they found bandits, who offered armed resistance.
