JAKARTA, July 1 Asia Pulse - Corruption in Indonesia has become worse, and civil servants and bureaucrats would need a strong will to create clean governance, chief of the State Administrative Institute (LAN), Anwar Suprijadi, said.
"Based on the result of a survey conducted by the Political and Economic Risk Consultancy (PERC) in 2002, Indonesia is the most corrupt nation in Asia," Anwar said.
Meanwhile, Transparency International (TI) has ranked Indonesia as seventh among 102 corrupt countries surveyed, he said.
In terms of software piracy, Indonesia ranks third, after China and Vietnam, he said.
Data from the U.S. software giant, Microsoft, suggest that 88 percent of software used in Indonesia is the result of piracy.
