YAKUM, Israel, July 1 /PRNewswire-AsiaNet/ -- Metalink Ltd. (Nasdaq: MTLK), a global provider and developer of high performance wireline and wireless broadband communication silicon solutions, announced it has shipped over 30,000 VDSL ports to Japan in June 2004. This volume shipment is based on demand for Metalink's technology and its adoption by Japanese broadband carriers.
"Metalink's market share growth can be attributed to the superior performance of the company's VDSLPlus technology and the strength of our Japanese partners," said Ronen Avron, Metalink's Vice President of Worldwide Sales.
Metalink's VDSLPlus utilizes the widest bandwidth among all available DSL solutions, allowing maximum extraction of copper capacity to allow robust performance at speeds exceeding 100 Mbps downstream and 50 Mbps upstream. Metalink's wide bandwidth VDSLPlus technology allows record speeds while maintaining spectrum compatibility with existing services such as ISDN, ADSL, and ADSL2+ among others.
Now available in volume, Metalink's VDSLPlus meets the specifications of 50 Mbps and 100 Mbps broadband systems, as defined by Korean and Japanese service providers already deploying the technology in Asia.
