TOKYO and YAKUM, Israel, July 1 /PRNewswire-AsiaNet/ - Metalink Ltd. (Nasdaq: MTLK), a global provider and developer of high performance wireline and wireless broadband communication silicon solutions, announced the appointment of Noboru Tsuchiya as Senior Field Application Engineer fully dedicated to country support. This appointment is part of Metalink's goal of strengthening support for its Japanese customers base.
"Over the last six months, we have experienced tremendous growth in our customer base and design activity with top-tier telecommunication vendors and service providers," said Masaharu Katayama, Metalink's Japan Country Manager.
"The tremendous demand for 100 Mbps VDSL technology, as part of Japan's FTTH deployment, is optimally addressed by our best performing VDSLPlus(TM) products."

Mr. Noboru has over fifteen years of experience in the Japanese telecommunications sector, most recently serving as a Senior Field Applications Engineer at GlobespanVirata. He has held similar positions at Paradyne, Allied Telesis K.K, and NEC Communication System, Inc.
