SEOUL, July 1 Asia Pulse - South Korea's consumer prices remained unchanged from May in June as the drop in agricultural prices offset gains made in industrial goods and service charges, a government report said Thursday.
The National Statistical Office (NSO) also said that prices of everyday goods and services increased 3.6 percent year-on-year, pushed up by gains in industrial goods and private service charges.
The zero per cent gain kept the consumer price index unchanged at 114.2 in June compared to the previous month. The index is based on the price movements of 516 household spending items, with the base of 100 set in 2000.
Consumer prices had been moving up since December 2003, but began to stabilize in April as warmer temperatures contributed to increased shipments of agricultural goods.
