Obesity has been reported as a national epidemic in recent months, with figures revealing nearly two-thirds of men and half of women are overweight or obese. The government is so concerned that it has started to tackle the issue via food labelling, advertising and exercise levels in schools. And in April this year, Swiss Re called for life insurers to take obesity more seriously and ensure rates truly reflect the associated health risks.
