The Association of British Insurers has stepped up its lobbying in an effort to convince the Treasury not to cut spending on flood defences in its review, set to be published later this summer.
Last week, the ABI's director general Mary Francis wrote to the government expressing concerns that any cutbacks could lead to insurance companies withdrawing flood cover for at-risk homes.
