The battle for the regional middle-market commercial broking business intensified this week, with Marsh announcing plans to create an eight-strong think-tank to ensure best practice across the group. It is also looking to recruit heavily in the sector.
A fortnight after its closest rival, Aon, announced its ambition to generate up to GBP5bn of premium income from UK commercial lines (PM, 17 June, p1), Marsh told PM it would combine the expertise of representatives from its existing sales, specialties and client services departments to ensure its own growth.
