AFTER six years, Benjamin "Benhur" Abalos Jr. formally handed over the leadership of Mandaluyong City to his friend and ally, Neptali "Boyet" Gonzales II, in a ceremony at the city gymnasium yesterday.

Then, he took his oath as Mandaluyong's lone representative, replacing Gonzales.

The two have shown their constituents-and future contenders for their seats-how political accommodation could work.
