San Juan, Puerto Rico: The Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), Jose Luis Machinea, has expressed concern over volatile growth rates in the hemisphere.

Noting that growth rates in Latin America and the Caribbean have displayed greater instability than world averages, the senior ECLAC official said at the opening of the Commission's 30th Session Monday [28 June], the region needs to display greater economic resilience.
