STANDARD OF DEWAN RAKYAT DEBATES HAVE IMPROVED TREMENDOUSLY - SPEAKER.

KUALA LUMPUR, June 26 (Bernama) -- The standard of debate in the Dewan Rakyat has improved tremendously, House Speaker Tun Dr Mohamed Zahir Ismail said today.

"The use of the Malay language as the official language of Parliament, has improved as well as most non-Malay members can debate without using notes. The calibre of the members also has improved greatly," he said at the Fifth Professor Emeritus Ahmad Ibrahim Memorial Lecture here today.
