Appearing in October 1997 on ABC's Good Morning America, Dr. Nancy Snyderman had explained the surgical technique of aborting some fetuses in a multiple pregnancy to increase the chances of the rest being born healthy.
Saint Francis President Sister M. Elise Kriss wrote to disinvite her: "The university recently received information from Bishop D'Arcy containing comments by you on the topic of abortion, and these comments appear to be contrary to the teachings of the Catholic Church. As a Catholic university, we have no choice but to rescind our invitation."
