Alias unleashes Maya 6.(modeling/animation)
Alias has begun shipping Maya Complete 6 and Maya Unlimited 6, offering hundreds of new and upgraded features to 3D artists in the film, broadcast, game development, digital publishing, and visualization fields.
Maya 6 boasts a wealth of character creation and animation enhancements, such as re-architectured Trax nonlinear animation and new motion retargeting and redirection capabilities. Its new Maya Hair tool set sports an integrated dynamic curve-simulation engine, Maya Fur can now be rendered in Mental Ray, and Maya Cloth boasts new stitching options and provides visual feedback of cloth stress.
In response to customer requests, Maya 6 incorporates a new Soft Modification utility and offers users the ability not only to apply deformers to particles, but also to use polygon meshes with Maya Paint Effects. Contributing to performance gains, Maya's Smooth Proxy tool is now up ...
