Remember that commercial for shampoo? Let me tell you, great looks can be a curse. Don't believe me? Consider Narcissus. All the nymphs desired him, but they were not as beautiful to him as he was to himself.

You know the story. Narcissus saw his reflection in some water and was mesmerized by his beauty. He couldn't pull himself away and eventually fell in and died. If Narcissus had been around a few years ago he would have had a personal Web page. It would have been similar to other "vanity- publishing" personal pages but there wouldn't be the typical pictures of his cat or original poems -- just photos of himself.

Today, Narcissus would probably have his own blog. Blog is short for Web Log and they have become a growing phenomenon in the online world.
