NET entitlements, if any, should be based on abilities, experience

I am responding to comments made by Jill Lunn "See NET Teachers in context" (Education, May 29). Ms Lunn's response is shortsighted and I take exception to her views on entitlements (a unionised mentality?)

First, she states: "Never in my 30 years of teaching have I had to endure a pay cut in my contract salary". The pay cut she refers to is a 3 per cent cut that all teachers (including local) have to "endure". Why should NETs be exempt?
