Road rage is old hat, but how about reader rage? Lately, Selling It has received a batch of beefs from subscribers to various magazines. One man's GolfDigest subscription was marked "overdue," his account was "red-flagged," and he was ordered to "act quickly--send payment now" so that "your account and credit record with GolfDigest can still be cleared." Another reader noticed that a full-page ad affixed to a copy of BusinessWeek offered a "Preferred Customer" rate substantially higher than the rate on cards inside the same magazine.

And a man who has been dead for three years was thanked recently (and billed) for his subscription order to CosmoGIRL!, a publication his niece doubts he ordered.
