H S Rao London, June 16 (PTI) Indian External Affairs Minister K Natwar Singh on Wednesday firmly ruled out sending Indian troops to Iraq saying "the question does not arise." "The question of sending Indian troops to Iraq does not arise," he told reportes at a joint press conference with Jack Straw, after a 45-minute long discussion with his British counterpart.

"The Government's position on the issue is based on national consensus as reflected in a resolution passed in Parliament," he said.

Singh, however, welcomed the adoption of the UN resolution relating to restoration of sovereignty to Iraqi people.
