THE Senate may cut short its recess to attend to developments arising from perceived flaws in the Emergency Powers Act it passed before proceeding on recess two weeks ago, Senate sources said yesterday.

The series of eight emergency rule laws confered on the sole administrator some extra-ordinary leverage to enforce the emergency rule which President Olusegun Obasanjo imposed in Plateau State following what he said was the inability of the elected governor, Mr. Joshua Dariye to stem the tide of sectarian violence in the State.
