The passing earlier this year of pitcher Joe Black reminded my family and me of those wonderful Brooklyn Dodger teams of the 1940s and 1950s.

Could you provide a list of the players who were on the 1955 World Series Dodger team who are still alive?

Johnny Carrano
Brooklyn, N.Y.

Members of that 1955 pennant-winning Dodger team who are still alive include the following:

Pitchers: Roger Craig, Carl Erskine, Sandy Koufax, Clem Labine, Tom Lasorda, Billy Loes, Don Newcombe, Johnny Podres, and Ed Roebuck.

Infielder: Don Zimmer.

Outfielders: Bob Borkowski, George Shuba and Duke Snider.
