INDEPENDENT candidate John Gilliland told business leaders yesterday that he believed he was closing in on the third of Northern Ireland's three seats in the European Parlaiment.
Courting the business world at a breakfast meeting in Belfast, he claimed he was gaining significant ground on Ulster Unionist Jim Nicholson and the SDLP's Martin Morgan in the battle to join the DUP's Jim Allister and Sinn Fein's Bairbre de Brun as an MEP.
