Jason Schmidt had one of the best changeups I've ever seen in his recent win over the Diamondbacks. He threw 40 percent changeups. And they were hard. His changeup was 88 and his fastball was 94. That's not a very wide separation, but it's a credit to how much movement he had on the bell.... The Phillies' Chase Utley is easy not to like defensively. He's not a pretty second baseman. At 6-1, he's a little taller than most. But he's got very good agility. He's surprising me with his quickness and his body control.... Boston's Kevin Youkilis isn't much of a defender at third, but he grows on you offensively. Is he going to be a legit power guy? I don't think so.
