KUALA LUMPUR, Fri. - Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said Malaysia's impressive economic performance in the first quarter of the year was mainly driven by the private sector, without any pump priming by the Government.
If the positive trend continued at the same pace, the country could see real growth beyond what had been estimated this year, he added.
"What is more pleasing is the fact that much of this growth is derived from domestic consumption and private investment," he said at the opening of the 58th AGM of the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM). …
