SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 8, 2004
More than $3.6 million raised online since 2002 by participants using Kintera's Friends Asking Friends personalized websites and easy-to-use
email system
Fundraising and the Internet -- for AIDS Walk New York, it's the ideal combination. AIDS Walk New York announced that since 2002, when event participants were first offered personalized websites with linked email, more than $3.6 million has been raised online. During the past three years, over 132,000 New York AIDS Walk volunteer fundraisers have been offered access to Internet fundraising tools provided by Kintera(R) Inc. (Nasdaq:KNTA), a leading software as a service provider to nonprofit organizations.
MZA Events, Inc. is the leading AIDS fundraising organization in the U.S. and produces AIDS Walk New York -- the world's largest AIDS fundraising event -- as a benefit for Gay Men's Health Crisis (GMHC). To build on successful fundraising efforts in previous AIDS Walks, in 2002 MZA Events launched Kintera's Friends Asking Friends(R) (FAF) solicitation service to reach even greater heights by enhancing the online component of their fundraising strategies through grassroots marketing efforts. Participants were offered personal and customizable websites within the main AIDS Walk New York's site at www.aidswalk.net/newyork, along with easy-to-use Internet tools to send solicitation emails to friends and family.
MZA Events notes the following fundraising results (as of 05/21/2004) using Kintera's Internet tools:
