Prozac helps adolescents cope with depression better than talk therapy does, according to a study by the National Institute of Mental Health.

The study, which has garnered national media attention, probably would not have been reported if not for the controversy surrounding whether SSRIs -- Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors -- are appropriate for young people, University of Florida pharmacy professor Paul Doering said.
